- Bert953: @Daledberry $MSTR I havent traded this in awhile as its been up and down so I kept getting shaken out. Its been printing lower lows and the last 5 days have been in an uptrend off the lows. It seems to be finding resistance at the 50dMA. Per Scott, Q4 is seasonally strong for bitcoin and $IBIT is up nicely over the last few days. For fun, I threw an Ichimoku cloud on the chart and see that price is below the cloud, which is a weaker indication. Im just watching from the safety of the sidelines.

An interesting dynamic of this current rally is the fact that Bitcoin and Crypto have been weak. This tells me we’re certainly not in some giant speculative bubble, like Jim Cramer is trying to suggest. If we were, BTC would be above 200K righ ... - romanalexk: @cat.moleiro I think a lot of us are in the crypto ETFs and related stocks $ETHA, $IBIT, $MSTR, $BMNR, etc... I am not selling any at least in this reaction. If you still want to adhere to your stop loss, you should wait for the market to open, then use the low of the day as your stop loss. There is more to it but I think that you get the idea. After hours or pre-market trading is very thin and volatile.

- phgruver: @Auto $MSTR I agree with @Vcondry. On a weekly chart, the pattern is constructive, but the volume, for the past 2 weeks, has been very low. Definitely worth watching, but a bit premature. If you decide to dip your toe in, keep it small and keep a tight stop. Last week's low was $320.45, don't let it go below that!

Today marks the 24th Anniversary of the horrific 9/11 attacks in NYC. Like you all I remember that day vividly even though I am Canadian. I can still smell the acrid jet fuel and debris. I was depressed for months following ...and hold onto the memories of many folks that I knew that lost their lives in the towers.

I set up my trading platform so that a profit limit and a stop market order are inbitiated when I place a buy order. They get OCO triggered when these stops get hit. Of course, I do adjust them as necessary but its a good starting point that has helped me get a handle on managing positions. Maybe ask @Dan any questions you may have at the 11am session.

- Henry: $MSTR Saylor shot himself in the foot when he came out with guidelines on when he would sell stock, vs preferreds and then flip flopped on those guidelines. Some of you who remember DVD's remember when $NFLX raised the price of the DVD service from $10 to $16 and @Dan railed about what an idiot Reed Hastings was? MSTR is having a similar moment and they don't really have a product to sell. They are depending on an infinite increase in price of BTC, but they have no control of that. One day they may sell at a big premium but I don't think it's going to happen this year even if BTC price turns around. Your funds would be of better use deployed elsewhere..
- RichardinME: @Henry $MSTR $NFLX Could not agree more Henry with $MSTR. I have been rationalizing that I closed my trading position of MSTR, don't touch $MSTX, and that my MSTR that I have held down from 550 is a HODL with a cushion. I've been trying to get out on strength but I'm not getting it. Sure it's a HODL but does not change the fact that it's red even on days when BTC and the market are green.
- DAN: @Henry $MSTR $NFLX Microstrategy's strategy is a bitcoin bank. The enterprise software core business model isn't working. Fundamentals look really ugly. Re/ Hastings -- I do recall saying he's an idiot...which sounds a bit like AOC calling Musk an idiot. Those are accusations made by...idiots. Hastings is a bazzilionaire, so he's obviously doing something right. Sometimes I use what I call "lazy language" to describe someone that I disagree with...thus establishing the fact that I can sometimes be an...idiot...myself. LOL
- RichardinME: @DAN $MSTR $NFLX Thanks for your input Dan. I know both you and Scott told us we should be out a long time ago. I was stubborn and closed my trading positions but decided that a HODL position was ok. Not only lost money but missed out on a lot of things that were working well at the time. My question for you is I know you have been long IBIT for some time and have done very well. I'm gradually getting rid if MSTR and buying IBIT but want something that is a bit more levered that would be suitable for a HODL position. I do believe BTC goes a lot higher but with a levered vehicle, the ETF could eventually go down just do to even if BTC goes up eventually.
- DAN: @RichardinME $MSTR $NFLX PRobably a better question for Scott than me. Not sure why you are gradually getting rid of MSTR unless you are just trying to prolong the pain a little at time. The way I look at trades is this: If I know I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I exit the trade so that I do not continue to be even more wrong...but with a smaller position. But that's just the way I think of things.
