  • DAN: @gwenzee $CIAP LOL. I was frantically looking up $CIAP, and the closest thing to it was $CIA -- Citizens, Inc (a life insurance company). 8-) Yes, cash is a position. And frankly, it yields great benefits to a trader because, in order to maintain that position, he has to be patient and discriminating. And that is difficult.

You'll know you are on your way when you consider yourself to be a "trader"...rather than some person who trades. You want to IDENTIFY with trading. You want it to be a part of you. $CIA refers to themselves as "CIA", not "the CIA". Why is that ...

  • woodman: NASDAQ - I agree, Abaltd. I think it's Aliens. You know, the $CIA recently acknowledged the existence of Area 51: http://news.discovery.com/space/alien-life-exoplanets/cia-admits-area-51-no-ufos-130817.htm

  • Henry: The speech could have been a lot more adversarial. Boehner looked like he was undergoing a male diagnostic procedure for most of the speech. The Republicans looked sour in general. They caught Elijah Cummings with his eyes closed. Who was the white haired guy that looked like a thin Tip O'@Neil? Glad the $CIA was there. @Henry
  • Lou: Hi all -- back from my 600 mile motoring trip - from Bethesda $MD, via Princeton (Seward Johnson sculpture park - a must see); to Hyde Park (FDR & Eleanor Roosevelt homes, library - great reminder of our nation's wartime valor and wonderful look at m ...
  • gotdementia: @Pureshot This happens to me constantly with stops. I think they are out there monitoring your computer and mine, probably with the help of the $CIA, FBI, Stasi or Mossad. They look at our open orders and say to each other-Let's reach down a little bit further so we can get these two. They lose we win-ha ha. I'd love to learn how to adjust my stops for uptrending stocks.
  • Dave: @HumanGeorge - #Greece by itself is not that big of a deal. Its $GDP ranked 28th in the world at $338 billion. The US GDP is $14.3 trillion for comparison and world $GDP is $57.5 trillion.. But #Greece is also one of several countries having difficulty. #Greece's debt is around 108% - 125% of their GDP. Here's a $CIA site which shows other country's debt as a % of their $GDP for comparison: https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/rankorder/2186rank.html #2 on this list is a real shocker. The thing about this list is that the countries that need the most help to get out of their financial mess (with a couple of exceptions), are also the ones that have the most socialistic tendencies and gov't regulations which put a crimp in their growth opportunities.
  • don6699: @Dan - I could of used Deadhead but I believe we have moved on and the younger ones understand head bangers more, oh the eighties how did we survive?? I watch the crab boats on Deadliest Catch and Sig is 8years younger than I, made a choice not to do that in 1978 and glad I did not go there. :*) PS You could of gone to work for the $CIA when they asked you, that would have been a good choice, Not.
  • DAN: Food for thought:

A member sent me a link to the $CIA website that contained data re/ the various levels of debt of various countries. Very helpful. However, as usual, I also found something else that prompted some thought.

  • ocean65: sizzle - tell my wife I'm an expert on something and she may pass out laughing! I actually don't know what Cameco paid last year for Saddams yellowcake, but the rumour is that it was cheap. I will try to find out more and keep you informed. Something tells me only the $CCJ Directors and the $CIA actually know (not forgetting @Dick Cheney who must have been on some sort of commission ;-)
  • wehappyfew: Hey @Bob, i did the buy down at about fifty cent increments to 32.52 low. Then sold in increments as the stock went back up after each lower position had increased; ie, 32.51, 32.98, both sold at 33.56. Sold the other 500 at 33.62 when it looked li ...

I really don't have a short-term view of treasuries. A few days ago I posted a piece on RealMoney telling readers that the uptrend was broken. That has certainly been the case. But I don't have any idea how far they'll fall. Way too many crossc ...

  • theturkeybone: Right now I work for Aramark, The Great Satan. I graduated from $CIA and Im normally used to restaurants and such, so doing corporate cafe stuff is kinda @eh to me, but I can still do good food here in this new position of mine. I mean.. a 6-2:30 M-F is unheard of in the food biz, plus nobody bothers me here so thats a much better quality of life than I had not a month ago. :)
